Job Description Kelly Services is hiring for Staff Accountant in the Baton Rouge, LA area. Great temp to hire opportunity for individual with BS in Accounting. The position is located in the business office and reports directly to the Director of Finance for all matters, including job duties, performance evaluations, approval of leave, and other assignments as deemed necessary for the benefit of the company. SPECIFIC DUTIES: 1. Timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions into QuickBooks Online and associated ledgers for the company. 2. Financial transactions to process in QuickBooks will include; a. All aspects of accounts payable from invoice receipts, obtaining proper approvals to payment. b. All aspects of accounts receivable from generating customer invoices to receipt and recording of customer payments to filing and paying all associated sales tax liabilities c. All aspects of payroll from obtaining source documents to processing of employee pay checks d. All banking transactions. e. Monthly journal entries f. Financial Statement preparation and analysis 3. AP Details include but are not limited to; a. Vendor maintenance, All vendors should have a W-9 on file b. AP should be aged and payment should be received by the vendor before the invoice due date in the most cost effective manner c. Receipt of services or goods should be validated and invoices approved before payment is rendered d. Intercompany payments should be allocated to the correct company through journal entries. e. 3rd party contractors will be paid based on scheduling or invoice source documents, supervisor approval and based upon contractual agreements. 4. AR Details include but are not limited to; a. Prepare, submit to supervisor for approval and submission of invoices to facilities in accordance with contractual guidelines b. Receive payment for invoices, follow up on aged invoices until receipt of payment, and notify supervisor of unpaid invoices over 30 days 5. Bi-Weekly Payroll Details include but are not limited to; a. Approved timesheets are obtained via our scheduling system b. Payroll is processed bi-weekly through our 3rd Party Payroll Partner c. Employee pay rates, W4, L4, I-9, and other payroll deduction or contribution associated information should be maintained and managed through our online database with copies of all associated documents maintained in the employee file. d. Associated payroll liabilities should be managed and paid in a timely manner on or prior to the due date. These liabilities include. 401k contributions and employee matching - HSA contributions and other payroll withholding items 6. Banking transactions include but are not limited to; a. Recording of daily deposits off of supporting deposit sheets b. Recording of miscellaneous, ACH, EFT and all other transactions that occur within the companies bank accounts c. Monthly rent and intercompany billing 7. Monthly journal entries include but are not limited to; a. Accrue revenue and expenses b. Accrue provider pay and office payroll expenses c. Monthly depreciation and interest expense d. Allocation of expenses to classes and jobs e. Bad debt expense f. 3rd party turnover 8. Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. 9. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statement reporting package 10. Preparation of annual budgets and monthly cash flow projections. 11. Maintain the chart of accounts and bookkeeping policies and procedures. 12. Maintain adequate records for all financial transactions. 13. Understands and follows all OSHA and HIPAA rules at all times. 14. Conducts self in accordance with company's Employee Handbook. 15. Performs other related duties as assigned and serves in whatever other capacity deemed necessary for the successful completion of the mission and goals of the company. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: 1. BS in Accounting 2. Knowledge of medical billing process is helpful but not required. 3. Knowledge and experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office programs. 4. Knowledge of billing and business office procedures. 5. Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment. 6. Exceptional communication, organizational, and customer service skills. 7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and clients.
