Our ideal applicant will live in the Baton Rouge, LA area.REPORTS TO/TERM:

• GEO Foundation -CFO
• Full TimeESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:The Accounting Officer will be required to have the following:
  • Remaining current with new/emerging accounting pronouncements to insure proper adherence to requirements
  • Oversight of complete preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for schools and holding company, insuring accuracy of financial statements
  • Coordination of tax return information
  • Oversight and coordination of the complete audit process for all entities
  • Monitoring all reporting requirements and adhering to required state and federal deadlines
  • Performance of other duties and projects as requested by CFO
    Experience:
    • Microsoft Excel: 5 years (Preferred)
    • advanced accounting/finance: 10 years (Required)License/Certification:
      • CPA designation (Required)Location:

          Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
          • CPA Required
          • Deep knowledge of GAAP including bond and lease accounting
          • Significant knowledge of Louisiana school reporting requirements
          • Experience in accounting for school/corporations
          • Knowledge of and experience with month end closings - both GAAP and governmental bases of accounting
          • Degree in Accounting, CPA designation required
          • Thorough knowledge of grant accounting and tracking processes
          • Experience with audit requirements for large, single program audits
          • Desire to work for a mission driven organization; making a difference in the lives of children and families
          • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills)
          • Proficiency in accounting software applications
          • Extremely professional attitude
