Our ideal applicant will live in the Baton Rouge, LA area.REPORTS TO/TERM:GEO Foundation -CFOFull TimeESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:The Accounting Officer will be required to have the following:Remaining current with new/emerging accounting pronouncements to insure proper adherence to requirementsOversight of complete preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for schools and holding company, insuring accuracy of financial statementsCoordination of tax return informationOversight and coordination of the complete audit process for all entitiesMonitoring all reporting requirements and adhering to required state and federal deadlinesPerformance of other duties and projects as requested by CFOExperience:Microsoft Excel: 5 years (Preferred)advanced accounting/finance: 10 years (Required)License/Certification:CPA designation (Required)Location:Louisiana (Required)Work Location: Remote in Louisiana. Our ideal candidate will live in the Baton Rouge areaRequirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:CPA RequiredDeep knowledge of GAAP including bond and lease accountingSignificant knowledge of Louisiana school reporting requirementsExperience in accounting for school/corporationsKnowledge of and experience with month end closings - both GAAP and governmental bases of accountingDegree in Accounting, CPA designation requiredThorough knowledge of grant accounting and tracking processesExperience with audit requirements for large, single program auditsDesire to work for a mission driven organization; making a difference in the lives of children and familiesExpertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills)Proficiency in accounting software applicationsExtremely professional attitudeExcellent analytical skillsOutstanding organizational skillsDetail orientatedSelf-starter with strong work ethicHigh degree of confidentiality10-15 years of overall accounting/financial experience minimumPIc1ec04922879-25660-35638500
