Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a high school in LaFayette, Georgia, serving students in a self-contained, lower functioning, functional curriculum classroom. This contract role runs through the end of the 2025-2026 school year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance. The classroom team includes two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, providing a supportive environment for both students and staff. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Deliver specialized instruction adapting curriculum to meet functional and academic goals. Collaborate with paraprofessionals and behavior specialists to support student growth. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations. Qualifications: Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Special Education Certification. Endorsements in Special Education content through 8th grade and Adapted Curriculum. Candidates with pending credentials will be considered. Experience working in self-contained functional curriculum classrooms is preferred. Strong collaboration and communication skills with educational teams and families.
