Senior Reliability Engineer, Geismar, LA
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for
driving reliability performance by using appropriate and effective
tools and techniques. In this role, you will provide technical
support to Production and Maintenance personnel, lead Root Cause
Failure Analyses, Bad Actor programs and monitor KPI data for early
identification and resolution of reliability issues. You may also
collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel and provide
services related to design review, repair and maintenance,
including predictive/preventative maintenance activities.
Additionally, you will provide technical support to the
troubleshooting of problems and optimization of PM and PdM
programs. Finally, you will also ensure a culture of continuous
improvement by employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your
ability to work with production and maintenance resources to
identify improvement opportunities and propose and implement
sustainable solutions for rotating and fixed mechanical equipment.
You will also use your strong interpersonal skills to communicate
data effectively and influence, persuade, and negotiate with
others.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your BS Degree in an engineering discipline combined
with your experience in petrochemical / chemical maintenance and/or
reliability roles, you will apply appropriate reliability tools to
drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness.
Tools may include (but are not limited to) Bad Actor Program, FMEA,
RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc.
Your strong background in equipment troubleshooting, including root
cause failure analysis and implementation of improvement efforts
will be essential as you lead Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA's)
and drive corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive
problems.
Your general knowledge of reliability tools such as bad actor
program management, FMEA, equipment criticality, equipment
strategies, etc. will serve you well as you lead the Bad Actor
program, create action plans for improving reliability and drive
implementation of those action plans.
Utilizing your background in optimization of equipment PM
activities and strategies and in the utilization of PdM tools
(vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, thermography, condition
monitoring, etc.) for equipment condition evaluation and
improvement, you will create and review equipment strategies and
evaluate new technologies or alternatives for equipment repair,
seeking maintenance cost and production improvements.
Demonstrating your solid understanding of maintenance and
reliability work processes along with your thorough knowledge of
mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of
maintenance and reliability activities associated with process
equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure
vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks,
positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of
various design, you will support capital projects by supplying
engineering expertise in the specification, design and construction
of projects in accordance with plant design requirements, BASF
standards and regulatory requirements.
