    Duties & Responsibilities

    Through this program, Oceaneering is seeking a motivated SkillBridge Intern Workshop Technician to work and learn in our facility in Morgan City, LA, or Houma, LA. The SkillBridge Intern will learn to carry out maintenance and refurbishment activities on subsea and surface equipment systems and/ or associated tooling packages.

    The successful candidate will participate in a practical and systematic program of on-the-job training and related instruction to develop existing military technical experience. Internship can be 6 - 24 weeks long and will only commence within the last 180-days prior to discharge from active-duty service.

    Week 1

    40 hours

    Oceaneering Orientation

    Complete in-person orientation and Oceaneering Learning Management System (SUMTOTAL) courses for all new hires

    Week 2

    20 hours

    OJT

    Introduction to subsea and surface equipment such as ROV systems, IWOCS, Workover Systems and Tooling packages

    Week 2

    8 hours

    OJT

    Introduction to 5S and lean principles

    Week 2

    12 hours

    OJT

    Introduction to industry HSE, maintenance, (mobilization, demobilization, periodic and in-storage) and refurbishment of company owned equipment

    Week 3

    40 hours

    OJT

    Training in equipment maintenance systems to record details of all repairs and maintenance of company owned equipment

    Week 4

    40 hours

    OJT

    Training in reparation and mobilization of ROV systems and/ or associated tooling packages

    Week 5

    40 hours

    OJT

    Training risk assessments, JSEA, and QSHE initiatives for continuous improvement

    Week 6 - 24

    40 hours/ week up to 24 weeks depending on length of internship approved by command

    OJT

    Appropriate OJT meant to build on all topics learned in previous weeks.

    Qualifications

    • Must meet all eligibility requirements outlined in applicable DoD Instructions.
    • Official TAD/ TDY Orders to Oceaneering International, Inc. for the period of the internship.
    • Military technical school, or civilian technical trade school completion in either Mechatronics, Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

      • Lift 20-50 pounds
      • Work in confined spaces , k neel, jump, run, work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands.

        • Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects

          • Wear PPE protection for body, vision, and hearing protection
