Job Description:

Our Ecoservices division is on the hunt for a Platform Lead Engineer based at our Baton Rouge, LA plant.--The Lead Engineer oversees and manages all engineering aspects of his/her group of resources. --He/she manages the capital and expense plans, manages resources and coordinates all engineering activities related to his/her areas of responsibility.-- In this particular position, the Lead Engineer will have primary responsibilities over the capital programs in the Baton Rouge plant.-- He/she may also be asked (through either the ECO Capital Manager and/or NA Engineering Manager) to assist or provide engineering resources/expertise for any of the other areas/customers needing assistance.-- The Lead Engineer must also have Project Management experience and be capable of managing projects from time-to time as needed. The Lead Engineer is responsible for the overall safe and efficient execution of capital under his/her responsibility. This includes Plant coordination, capital plan management, resource allocation, resource training, project support, contract engineering management/coordination, and department cost management.Scope:The Lead engineer's primary duties are to manage the available resources to provide an efficient and safe implementation of the desired/allocated capital program. --He/she will interface with Plants and Platform management to develop and manage the overall capital program. --He or she will develop costs and schedules and provide progress updates as needed.-- The lead engineer must be able to predict shortfalls in expertise/engineering and secure the necessary resources. He or she will be responsible for developing the skills of his/her staff as needed.The Lead Engineer is responsible to develop and improve project management systems appropriate for the Platform and possibly the plant as it relates to project management and or implementation.Travel required:-- less than 20%Responsibilities:

• Capital program development, schedule, reporting, and management.

• Project development and implementation
• Documentation of projects and department activities--
• Responsible for managing projects according to established policies and procedures.
• Coordinate project request from both the customers and/or the platform
• Oversee platform activities to ensure safe implementation of practices and full compliance to all plant and company policies.
• Possess the ability to estimate conceptual estimates for budgetary and proposed spending.
• Have a solid working/general knowledge to review projects and proposals.---- ------Other relationships:

  • ----Budget:
    • Expense-$800,000 to $1.5M
    • Capital-$5-$20M Depending on capital allocations.Requirements:
      • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering
        • Five to ten years of experience in an industrial/chemical manufacturing facility (or five years of similar experience as a project engineer in another related capacity) along with a working knowledge of project management and chemical process equipment.
        • Good leadership and organizational skills to manage and motivate employees, contractor personnel and other team members.
        • Good computer skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
        • Good scheduling and resource management skills.
        • Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete complex assignments with minimal supervision.
