Senior Network Engineer:
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team
within a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in network engineering and a deep understanding
of network protocols, routing, switching, and security. This
position will be responsible for managing and maintaining the
company's network infrastructure, troubleshooting any issues that
arise, and providing technical support for escalated issues to end
users and to other IT functions. Strong experience in virtualized
server support is required. Candidate must possess the ability to
successfully problem-solve complex issues, as well as effectively
communicate internally and with external vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain network hardware and
software.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network issues.
- Analyze network performance and suggest improvements.
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls,
wireless access points, and other network devices.
- Implement security measures to protect the network from
unauthorized access.
- Perform regular maintenance on network equipment.
- Research new technologies and vendors to improve network
performance.
- Support our VMWare infrastructure and virtual servers.
- Configure and support NTFS security on network drives.
- Mentor other IT personnel and work collaboratively within the
department and with third parties.
- Maintain technical documentation.
- Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
- Support and provide input related to internal projects and
business initiatives.
- Perform onsite support to remediate server, network, or
security issues, including both emergency and scheduled after-hours
support.Experience:
- Cisco routers and switches: 5 years
- VMWare servers: 5 years
- Microsoft Windows Server support: 5 years
- Powershell scripting: 2 yearsEducation:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related
field; 7-10+ years of direct infrastructure and networking
experience can be accepted in lieu of degree.
- CCNA or CCNP certifications preferred.Schedule:
- Hybrid work schedule - must work in the office at least three
business days; must also be available for in office support
additional days as requested.
- Standard business hours are expected whether at the office or
remote.
- Additional night and weekend support will be required
periodically.
- Some travel is required.Physical:
- Must be able to assist with physical installation of networking
devices, including but not limited to routers, switches, and server
