LifeShare is seeking an enthusiastic Operations Director to oversee our blood collection and donor recruitment operations for the Baton Rouge region. The Director will develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for operations within the donation center and community-based activities. S/he will direct, develop and coach the recruitment and donor services teams for achievement of established goals and key performance indicators for their region. The Director represents LifeShare as a community leader for contact with donor groups, civic and professional organizations, hospitals, and other organizations to communicate our business needs and mission throughout the community. S/he models LifeShare's mission and values, integrating them into daily decisions, behaviors and actions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Blood Operations, the Director will ensure the region's operations adhere to standards and regulations governing the blood banking industry, including FDA, AABB, cGMP, and OSHA, as well as internal SOP's. The ideal candidate has a background in healthcare administration or operations management, including supervisory experience in the direction and coaching of other employees. Beginning base salary is $65,000 - 70,000, commensurate with experience; plus up to 20% incentive bonus opportunity. • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management or other related field, plus
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience, including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job duties
• Ability to become familiar with FDA regulations governing blood banking, AABB standards, OSHA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Ability to deal with the public and employees in a tactful, professional manner, maintaining a high level of confidentiality when appropriate
• Work involves potential exposure to infectious disease from blood and blood products
• Requires occasional travel within the community and to other centers; must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by our commercial auto insurance carrier Since 1942, LifeShare has operated blood centers to facilitate generous donors sharing the Gift of Life.
