Looking for a highly qualified individual with a strong background in accounting to continue moving our strong non-profit organization. YMCA Location Job Description This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Branch Business Manager at the Meadville YMCA i ntentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also serving as a liaison between the branch and the association office regarding all financial transactions. The Branch Business Manager also ensures the branch follows all business procedures. Qualifications -- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or in related field or equivalent work experience preferred. -- Two years or more years in accounting or related business management. -- Understanding of basic accounting concepts and applications including cash reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. -- Experience with standard business software and office machines. Essential Functions ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS BUSINESS MANAGER: 1. Manages association's receivable. Ensures daily deposits of all cash. Reviews the daily cash reconciliation. Reviews and follow ups on returned checks and bank drafts. 2. Recruits, trains, and supervises assigned staff and volunteers. May assist new staff with onboarding processes. Navigates employee concerns; demonstrates a settling presence, even during times of crisis and challenge; and helps resolve conflict in the work place. 3. Assists branch staff and serves as the point person for business questions. 4. Coordinates month-end closing and reviews the branch financial statements. Assists branch staff in annual budget development. 5. Manages the annual independent audit, the preparation of financial statements and the IRS 990 tax form. Prepares or oversees the preparation of required audit schedules; maintains records; acts as liaison with audit team and the YMCA Finance Committee. 6. Implements appropriate systems and internal controls to adequately safeguard the YMCAs financial resources and to provide a solid basis for accurately reporting financial data. 7. Prepares or supervises the preparation of outside reports and filings. 8. Oversees the month-end and year-end closings and the preparation of statements and reports. 9. Implements, manage and oversee personnel and payroll administration including maintaining records and related systems. 10. Responsible for all collections, insurance billing and corporate invoices. 11. Oversees office functions such as petty cash, office equipment and supplies, etc. 12. Manages purchasing of supplies and equipment for the branch. 13. Reviews payroll related transactions for accuracy and completeness. 14. Coordinates and supports assigned aspects of the annual support campaign at the branch. 15. Gathers relevant, valid data to make appropriate decisions. 16. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility. 17. Responsible for the ordering of office supplies and ordering of services relating the Business Office operations, within the annual budget. 18. Analyze and maximizes office productivity. 19. Prepares reports and correspondence as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS HUMAN RESOURCES: 1. Responsible for maintaining complete branch personnel files.
