The General Manager is the senior-most leader at their facility and is responsible for all facets of that site including compliance with food safety, physical safety, employment and all other applicable laws and regulations. GM establishes systems and procedures for operating efficiency and achieving performance metrics. She/He is driven by challenge and success in a fast-paced, high-growth working environment and is passionate about leading people and operations for both current and future success. The GM forecasts, plans, and budgets labor sufficient for optimized uninterrupted operations. Success in selecting, developing, managing, and retaining talent, as well as building high-performance teams, are key in this pivotal leadership position. GM's report to a Regional Vice President of Operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY:

  • --Direct and manage all site operations to achieve site and corporate targets within Company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for achievement of site profit goals, workplace safety, food safety, teammate relations, and overall site cleanliness and appearance.
  • --Provide clear and timely operational directives to direct reports.
  • Compile, analyze and report site key financial and performance data, ensuring all key performance metrics for site are met and course corrections or redirections are made as may be needed to reach targets.
  • Enforce and comply with all GMP/HACCP and Safety rules and regulations. Attend and/or conduct Safety meetings as required.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategy to ensure customer satisfaction through close collaboration with sales team.
  • Develop and execute site annual budget and production plan.
  • Perform labor planning for optimal staffing levels and cost-effective site operations.
  • Analyze unit costs by SKU to maximize profitability.
  • Compile data and analyze profitability daily to determine site's achievement toward monthly targets.
  • Responsible for overseeing ongoing and preventative maintenance is performed at the site as needed and work with the site's operations or production manager to verify that the facility and equipment are always kept in optimal operating condition.
  • Motivate and foster a highly engaged site leadership team, including implementing development plans for everyone.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in all areas.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of site standard operating procedures (SOP's) in accordance with SGI best practices.
  • Manages performance across all teams through positive recognition, guiding through ongoing coaching, and ensuring disciplinary/corrective actions are implemented in accordance with Company policies and procedures. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education: Bachelor's degree or high school diploma/GED and equivalent work experience (10+ years).
    Experience: Minimum of 5 years management experience in food manufacturing, logistics, or production/manufacturing plant operations work environment, demonstrated leadership skills, demonstrated team building skills, including demonstrated ability to motivate others. Knowledge of process improvement techniques and of project management principles and practices.
    Language Fluency: No specific language requirements; bi-lingual English/Spanish fluency preferred
    Technology: MS Office Suite, Word, including advanced Excel, Outlook, and strong keyboarding skillsets required
    Licensure: No specific licensure required.
    Credentials: No specific professional credentials required. REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Locomotion: Ability to move about between various environments and on different surfaces sufficiently to perform job duties and responsibilities. Muscle Strength & Flexibility: Ability to bend, reach, stoop, squat, pivot, turn, balance, walk, push, pull, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Sustained Fast Pace: Ability to perform duties, responsibilities and assigned tasks with maximum efficiency while working at a very fast sustained pace without reduction in accuracy and quality. COGNITIVE/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
    Learning: Ability to understand and follow directions and learn new skills.
    Near Vision: Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
    Speech Recognition: Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.
    Oral Comprehension: Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    Oral Expression: Ability to communicate information and ideas speaking so others will understand.
    Problem Sensitivity: Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
    Emergency Response: Ability to understand, respond quickly, and move appropriately according to workplace safety protocols. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Temperature: Performs work in an office environment within a standard office temperature range.
    Noise: Moderate - generally, between 80-90 decibels or below
    Workplace Safety: Non-slip shoes when in production areas
    Food Safety: Nitrile gloves, hair and facial hairnets when in production areas REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
