The HR Director of Development Retention will design and deliver the strategy and initiatives that enhance and strengthen employee engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Leads the strategy, content, design, and implementation of enterprise-wide development programs using a variety of delivery methods. Areas of focus include but are not limited to programs for: high potential employees, mentor/mentee, succession planning, The Collaborative Way (our cultural program), supervisor/management leadership development, safety training, government compliance, technical/functional training, Communities of Practice, employee engagement
  • Work closely with managers and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and enhance retention. Serve as an employee champion to ensure that processes and relationships are fair and equitable, that communications are open and that conflict is managed effectively. Guide actions to improve overall employee satisfaction
  • Review, manage and update annual performance management design and delivery
  • Implement communication strategies to raise awareness and promote learning and development opportunities
  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment
  • Oversee training resource allocation including creating and managing training budget
  • Manage the LMS content and resources
  • Provide change management and catalytic capability to enable leadership team development, organizational development and deliver change projects, ensuring the alignment with Company's unique culture.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and development opportunities to team

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to design and implement effective training and development
    • Demonstrated ability to consult strategically with leaders on HR related topics including but not limited to compensation, talent management, performance, change management, succession planning, workforce planning, etc.
    • Must be an action-oriented, enthusiastic team player and a leader who has the proven ability to develop effective relationships and act on both strategic and tactical levels
    • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence at a high level
    • Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects
    • Effective presentations skills in small and large group settings, in-person and virtually
    • Knowledgeable in OSHA and environmental regulations preferred
    • Strong knowledge of Talent Management Systems and Learning Management Systems
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong MS Word, Excel skills required

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant field
      • 8-10+ years of experience in learning and development and/or organization development
      • Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred
      • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience directly managing a team
      • A proven track record of continuous process improvement, positive leadership, collaboration, teamwork skills and measurable outcomes
