Job Description:
The Acadiana Advocate is recruiting for a District Manager in
our Lafayette location. The Circulation District Manager will
oversee the distribution of newspaper products to contractors and
to ensure satisfactory delivery of products to our customers. The
District Manager will also serve as a representative of the company
at Retail Outlet/Distribution locations for the purpose of
soliciting sales locations, marketing and promoting to increase
sales, billing and collecting of money owed for the sale of The
Acadiana Advocate and other publications. Primary Responsibilities
and Essential Duties:
- Distribution Centers
- Prints paperwork, sorts and organizes Wall Street Journal, NY
Times and Advocate products for contractor pickup daily without
error. Maintains paperwork in neat and organized manner.
- Oversees distribution of product to contractors, ensuring
contractors get the correct product and correct amount of papers.
Assists contractors in loading papers as necessary in carts, cars,
etc
- Address complaints with contractors in your assigned area in a
timely manner with personal communication and follow through with
subscriber concerns for all products.
- Districts
- Provide daily/weekly feedback to new and existing contractors
while working with all contractors to provide ongoing support to
meet service objectives.
- Complete Service Checks on subscriber activity, start, stops,
and various delivery issues through field verification and
reporting.
- Redelivers missed contractor deliveries (Redeliveries) when
necessary
- Delivers down routes when necessary.
- Orientates new contractors on routes as necessary in
conjunction with the Zone Manager.
- Communicates with customers, returning customer phone calls in
a quick, timely, and professional manner, in order to resolve
customer s complaints. Replies to all emails in a timely and
professional manner.
- Collection of Stores
- Collects money and unsold newspapers for single copy newspaper
sales from multiple retail outlets within a designated district
weekly or semi-monthly. Issues credit to retail outlets for unsold
copies.
- Ensures weekly/monthly billing is correct and balances.
- Provides customer service and resolves problems by answering
questions and/or providing information to them regarding any and
all issues pertaining to their account in a quick and timely
manner.
- Administrative
- Ensures product placement. Sets up, maintains and services
displays making sure they are in good condition by visually
inspecting display racks on every visit.
- Coordinates with Accounts on any and all promotional
marketing.
- Initiates all marketing promotions by placing marketing
material on displays and elsewhere around retail outlets as
necessary.
- Merchandises product when necessary.
- Solicits new sales locations.
- Other
- Performs other tasks as directed by Distribution Director.
Education, Experience, and Knowledge Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Thorough knowledge of customer service - principles and
processes for providing customer service including needs assessment
techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery
systems, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques.
- Considerable knowledge of computers and working knowledge of
all Microsoft software, the internet and office equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of communication, and dissemination
techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform
via written, oral, and visual media.
- Considerable knowledge of mathematics, numbers, their
operations in order to count and sort products correctly.
- Considerable knowledge of transportation, public safety and
security - this includes principles and methods for safely
operating a vehicle, and knowledge of local, state or national
driving laws. Licenses and Certificate Requirements:

- Moderate noises (business office with computer and printers,
light traffic).

- Daily traveling to customer locations in vehicle and exposure
to outdoor weather.
