Description Position Overview: The Chief Financial Officer serves
as the senior financial officer for all of Woman's operations. In
this role, the CFO will work directly with the CEO and other
Executive Leaders in supporting the development and achievement of
the health system's strategic plan, growth initiatives, and annual
financial / operating plans, along with management of the capital
budget.Consistent with the above, the CFO will lead all of Woman's
daily financial management activities. These include debt issuance
and management, banking relations, cash management, financial
analysis of new programs / acquisitions, and preparation of the
financial statements in accordance with financial accounting
standards appropriate to the health care industry.In addition to
maintaining the quality and accuracy of the organization's internal
financial and accounting control systems, the CFO will be called on
to provide strategic input, creativity, and vision. The CFO will
ensure Woman's Hospital sets the highest example for
accountability, compliance, and business ethics and will also play
a key role in positioning this complex health care organization in
achieving its strategic objectives.In support of the CEO, the CFO
will have a clear view of the big picture and limited bias toward
one aspect of its performance. The CFO will be a business executive
first and a financial executive second. While the CFO shares
certain values and ideals with the CEO, this individual must think
differently enough to provide an alternative perspective. Position
Responsibilities: - Woman's Hospital firmly believes in their

CFO. Woman's Hospital is looking for a strong businessperson who
has proven to be exceptional overall in business, as well as
financial leadership. The following are essential functions for the
CFO:
- Consistently leads assessments of the financial opportunities,
challenges and risks facing Woman's Hospital and its
system-of-care. Puts forward pro-active ideas and approaches on how
Woman's can best address these opportunities, challenges, and
risks.
- Effectively engages with executive, physician, community and JV
stakeholders around Woman's services, performance, direction,
etc.
- Collaborate with Functional leadership around their Shared
Services needs within Revenue Cycle Management, Finance and Supply
Chain. Leads the development of world-class capabilities within
these areas.
- Guides development and deployment of new payment models, e.g.,
bundled payments with major regional employers. -
- Collaborates, in a respectful and positive yet transparent /
direct way, with physicians, service line and JV leadership to
ensure a robust business planning process incorporating rate
setting, capital planning and financial planning to support the
regions strategy.
- Effectively communicates to a variety of audiences regarding
the Woman's financial performance; drivers of performance;
opportunities and risks; and plans for ensuring financial success,
e.g. Board of Directors, Foundation, etc.
- Effectively manages Woman's on-going capital needs, banking
relationships, investment strategies and returns, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining and driving a culture of integrity,
ethics, and transparency.

based on extensive cross functional knowledge of the entire
organization.

organization. Education, Experience, & Requirements: The ideal
candidate will possess the following qualifications and
professional experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business
Administration, or equivalent discipline required. Master's degree
in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration and/or
certification as a CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive healthcare financial leadership and
administration experience; including responsibility for diverse
portfolio of operations from hospital to large specialty / medical
group / Physician practice finance leadership. Existing experience
as the CFO / Div Financial Leader with Board / Executive Leadership
exposure is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience managing debt issuance and banking
relationships. -
- Real estate additions, expansions and transaction experience
strongly preferred.
- Highly engaged self-starter who is willing to put in the effort
and thought necessary to contribute and excel. Demonstrated
experience working in a highly collaborative and flat,
non-hierarchical organization results driven culture.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, cost
accounting and reimbursement; solid understanding of GAAP and
corporate taxes but not a technician.
