senior Civil Engineer / Manager to join our Mobile, AL (preferred)
or Baton Rouge or New Orleans, LA office. The successful candidate
will join a team of engineers working on a variety of projects
throughout the Greater Mobile Area as well as on large, complex,
and exciting projects across the Gulf Coast. This position will
lead and manage the planning, design, and construction to support
complex coastal engineering and/or civil / structural projects at
marine terminals. The ideal candidate has a strong existing
professional network and will be given opportunities as a
client-facing team member. Strong attention to detail and
communication skills are required for this position. Moffatt &

- Leads and manages projects by preparing engineering design,
documents, and specifications
- Prepares engineering design for coastal protection, port
infrastructure, stormwater management systems
- Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and
related costs
- Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design,
conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
- Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety
standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction
site, and verifying calculations and placements
- Submits site development permits and erosion control plans to
applicable agencies/municipalities
- Manages subconsultants in the development of engineering
evaluations and designs
- Interfaces with clients by providing engineering information,
recommendations, project updates, and answering questions and
requests
- Mentors and assists junior engineers in developing final design

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited
university degree program
- Professional Engineer licensure in Alabama or Louisiana or the
ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire
- 6 to 15 years of experience in site civil engineering; port
experience preferred
- Competence in general civil engineering design is required
including coastal structures, flood risk reduction, transportation
infrastructure, stormwater management
- Some project management experience is required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word and Excel
required
- Ability to plan, schedule work and complete work assignments
within established budgets and timelines
