Job Description:

This is a brand new fast paced med-tele unit with experienced nurses who revel in guiding new nurses to reach their ultimate potential. This unit will allow new nurses to encounter many different clinical skills under the careful guidance of knowledgeable preceptors and charge nurses.Medical Telemetryunit cares for acutely ill patients with cardiac and medical disease processes such as CHF, MI, Atrial fibrillation, Respiratory distress/failure, hypertensive crisis, cardiac dysrhythmias and COPD.The nursewill gain experience in many types of procedures as well as develop critical thinking skills for crisis situations.

Educational Opportunities within the first year of employment include: CPR, ACLS, EKG, Stroke disease process, Charge Nurse and Nurse Preceptor Training programs. After one year of service there is a Core Telemetry-Vascular Course that is offered for nursing specialization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Current Louisiana RN licensure required,BLS required.1 year of Nursing experience is preferred, ACLS preferred
