Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CT Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 9 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Title= CT Technologist Location= Kenner LA Assignment= 13 Weeks Shift= Days 36 hours a Week (Sat/Sun/Mon 6:30am - 6:30pm) Job Description /t - This job, as a part of a multidisciplinary team, assumes responsibility for the operation of the heart /t - catheterization laboratory suite. Operates diagnostic fluoroscopy and various types of cardiac equipment, /t - monitors patient vitals, performs routine calculations, circulates, and assists the physician during the /t - procedure upon request. Prepares the procedure rooms, equipment, and patient for the procedure. Education /t - Required – Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences /t - Preferred – Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences Experience /t - Required – 2 years of experience /t - CT tech to work CT and Xray Certifications /t - Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) /t - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire /t - Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice AND registration from The American Registry of /t - Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) KSAs /t - • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. /t - • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. /t - • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. /t - • Strong interpersonal skills. /t - • Detail-oriented; experience performing complex tasks which may be hazardous to the patient's welfare and skills to detect equipment malfunctions. /t - • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of internal/external visitors in a highly stressful atmosphere. /t - • An interest and curiosity to learn new procedures. /t - • Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with all Federal, State, and local regulatory radiation requirements /t - • Ability to work flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability). Job Duties /t - • Assist the team in patient setup and prep before the procedures and take down/clean up post-procedure using safe patient transfer and positioning techniques /t - • Documentation in procedure log to reflect accurate procedure and interventions to ensure accurate billing and charge capture /t - • Operates radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease Hemodynamic monitoring of patient during procedure and reporting values to performing physician /t - • Monitors delivery of radiation dose to patient to achieve safe delivery with minimal exposure to staff. /t - • Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images in picture archiving and communicating systems (PACS) /t - • Performs quality control standards by using the optimum diagnostic imaging and performing regular maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment. /t - • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. /t - • Performs other related duties as assigned. /t - • The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
