Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Baton Rouge, LA Agency: SnapCare Pay: $1,842 per week Shift Information: Rotating Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Contract Location: Lafayette , LA Job Details: Pay Rate = $22 , $1050 stipend Shift Type = Nights Shift Hours = 18:45 - 07:15 Assignment Length = 13 Weeks Description of job: The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating respiratory care services for patients of all ages. This role provides critical respiratory therapy, monitors patient responses, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality respiratory care in accordance with established standards and regulations. Qualifications: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Valid state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner/Licensed Respiratory Therapist Associate or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to work effectively in high-stress clinical situations. Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed. Operate and maintain ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and other life-support equipment. Conduct arterial blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation. Respond to respiratory emergencies, including code blue and rapid response situations. Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and home-care protocols. Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record. Ensure compliance with infection control policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
