Surgical Tech Location: Lafayette, LA Agency: SnapCare Pay: $1,600 per week Shift Information: Rotating Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Surgical Tech - Contract Location: Lafayette, LA Job Details: Base Hours = 36/week Pay Rate = $20/hr (Travel), $800 stipend Shift Type = Days Shift Hours = 06:30 - 15:00 Assignment Length = 13 Weeks SnapCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assists the surgical team during operative procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, ensuring necessary instruments and supplies are available, and providing direct assistance to surgeons and nurses throughout the procedure. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to aseptic techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. Qualifications: Current unencumbered LA license AHA BLS required Responsibilities: Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly sterilized and set up. Verify and assemble surgical equipment and ensure functionality prior to surgery. Assist the surgical team with gowning, gloving, and draping the patient according to sterile technique. Pass instruments, sutures, and other supplies to the surgeon and assistants during procedures. Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgery. Ensure specimens are properly handled and labeled for laboratory analysis. Support the team in maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure. Assist with patient preparation, including positioning and skin antisepsis under the supervision of the RN or physician. Clean and restock the operating room after each case, ensuring readiness for the next procedure. Adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety regulations at all times.
