Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Lafayette, LA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,038 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: 2 years minimum experience required, including post-operative experience License: Compact or LA license required upon submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate for L&D RNs Must-Have: - Post-op experience required - Acute care experience required - Experience working full-time on a post-op unit - Minimum of one completed travel contract Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware of job expectations. Upon accepting the assignment, there may be an expectation to stay at the facility for emergencies or to be part of a relief team. Specific pay details will be discussed during emergency events. You should not apply if you are not comfortable with these conditions. This position specializes in post-operative gastrointestinal and wound care. Candidates without this experience should not be submitted. Patient diagnoses include pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, bowel perforation, wound infections, and post-operative infections. Special procedures performed within this unit involve pancreatectomy, esophagectomy, and colectomy, among others. Preferred skills include management of PEG, PEJ, PCA, and various surgical drains. Candidates will be considered for a blocked schedule if they are willing to work weekend shifts. Post-operative experience is mandatory. Every other holiday duty may be applicable. Candidates can be assigned to other inpatient units based on staffing needs. Additional interdisciplinary support available includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must have travel nursing experience and meet all compliance requirements. References may be required for clearance to start the contract. All certifications must be up to date. Resources in previous roles within this system must be separated for one year before returning as travelers.
