Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Lafayette, LA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,038 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/13/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Lafayette, Louisiana, 70503! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty required. License: Compact or state-specific license required. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and NIH preferred. Must-Have: - Neuro surgery experience. - Experience with trauma patients. - Ability to manage complex patient care. Description: The position involves working in a fast-paced environment. The unit cares for patients with multi-trauma, seizures, gunshot wounds, falls, TBI, stroke, and sepsis, among other conditions. Experience in neuro surgery is essential. Nurses will be involved in special procedures like craniotomy and spinal fusion. The nurse will also manage surgical drains, chest tubes, and isolation precautions. Float requirements apply, with potential assignments to other inpatient units. Candidates should be comfortable with emergency team assignments as necessary. This role requires the ability to work a flexible schedule. Candidates must have a clear understanding of patient care protocols and standards. Interdisciplinary support is expected in collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The position involves caring for adults and geriatric patients. A thorough knowledge of specific equipment used in the unit is necessary. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are essential.
