The teacher shall implement an educational program responsive to student needs according to state and local policy, including the Louisiana Components of Effective Teaching. Must hold a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate. Dean of Students Summary The Dean of Students will aide students, teachers, administrators and parents in understanding and relating to the school objectives and missions. Serve as a general link between students and administration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Assists in developing and implementation of effective community relations program* Provides educational leadership by creating an environment conducive to teaching and learning* Assists in administering and supervising all school activities* Assists in planning, preparing, and distribution of student and teacher handbooks* Assists in interpreting and administering policies, rules and regulations, established by the legislature, by state and local boards of education, school district administration, and school administration* Establishes and maintaining process for daily accounting of attendance of all students* Assists in monitoring teacher duty post* Assists in administering the total school health program, including student insurance, school immunization records, student and employee accident reports, and providing basic first aid until professional care is available* Assists in providing plant and campus security* Prepares and submit reports as required for the effective operation of school facilities* Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or his designee Qualifications: Should meet State minimum certification requirements for a teacher as outlined in the State Department of Education Bulletin 746. Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience with evidence of leadership ability.
