Job Description:

*Main Purpose of Role: * The HR Assistant performs administrative duties in support of HR Department and Emerge, such as maintaining employee database, conducting new hire orientations, planning team events, assisting with staffing, onboarding, and offboarding, and team communication, and other duties as needed.

*Duties and Responsibilities: *

* Manages and coordinates the hiring and onboarding of part-time and full-time staff
* Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
* Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee files, records, and documentation and performs periodic audits
* Provides clerical support to the HR department.
* Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
* Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
* Develops and proposes improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources
* Performs other duties as assigned.

*Required Skills/Abilities: *

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS)

*Essential Job Functions: *

* Regular attendance
* Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time.
* Ability to communicate proficiently in English via email, phone, and in person
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
* Ability to access, accurately input, and retrieve information from a computer
* Ability to perform in-person and over the phone interviews
* Ability to learn and manage time accountable system
* Ability to work collaboratively with others

*Education & Certifications*

* Bachelor's degree (required)


* Experience in Human Resources (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
