**Job Description**The SDV Security Engineer (Software Defined
Vehicle) is part of GM's Product Cybersecurity technical staff
responsible for security design of GM's new software defined
vehicle architecture. The SDV Security Engineer work assignment
involves defining security requirements, performing evaluation of
security designs, and driving a validation plan for responsible
requirements. Work involves independent judgement, high level of
analytical capability and an initiative to collaborate and
contribute to the success of the team.**Additional Job
Description****Tasks and responsibilities include:**+ Act as
subject matter expert for product cybersecurity focused on specific
aspects of automotive hardware, firmware, operating system, network
protocols and configurations+ Actively participate in technical and
security design discussions, security reviews and investigations+
Research and define new tools, processes, and technical security
specifications to aid advancement of security design and
development across the product+ Develop and support development of
prototypes quickly to demonstrate and evolve internal product
security proposals, and aid with recommendations to bring the
product from concept to production+ Collaborate with SDV Security
Architect and security subject matter experts to author security
requirements specifications, architecture and data flow diagrams,
risk mitigation and threat models, and validation plans+ Act as a
consultant to guide teams through the implementation and updates of
security controls, configuration and/or software features+ Stay
abreast of new security technology and competitive products to
define GM's direction+ Encourages ongoing skill development by
providing opportunities for continued education**Required Skills /
Experience / Education**+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical
Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer
Engineering or equivalent+ 3+ years of experience in product
cybersecurity, application security, security engineering, or
embedded software engineering+ 5+ years of development experience
in Linux, Unix and embedded platforms with multiple programming
languages (such as C/C++, Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.)+ Strong
demonstrable knowledge of system architecture, crypto, network
security and communication protocols+ Practice with risk
assessment, risk management methodologies, threat modeling and
vulnerability ranking+ Knowledge of System and Agile Software
Development Processes and Lifecycles for product development #LI -
Remote**The median level of salary compensation for this position
