Job Description:
OverviewGovCIO is looking for a Linux Administrator to join our
Clinical Services Product Line Support team with the Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA).This position will be a fully remote position
within the United States with core hours of operation from Monday
to Friday 8AM to 5PM ET.ResponsibilitiesYou will work closely with
project team to build and maintain the development and testing
environments for one of the flagship applications in the VA. In
addition, you will be helping to identify inefficient processes and
contribute to the design and implementation of the solutions. The
environment is dynamic and demanding, and the client's needs are
constantly evolving. Flexibility and innovative thinking are
important for success.To this end, you will be involved in the
following:Ensuring the availability of Dev/Test environments (Linux
and Windows based) for the project team. These environments will
need to be operational, up to date, and accessible whenever the
team needs to use them.Installing and maintaining Linux and Windows
operating systems, their updates, and required software in cloud
based Virtual Machines (VMs), (In Azure and possibly Amazon Web
Services (AWS).Learn unfamiliar software and systems to fulfill the
needs of the project team.Automation of manual processes in both
system administration and the software development, build, and
testing lifecycle to reduce human errors and improve operation
efficiencies.Identification of current and potential problems,
research viable options, and collaborate with other stakeholders to
implement effective solutions.Drive continuous improvement through
innovation and changes, especially via automation.Proactively
collaborating and establishing relationships with critical team
members to facilitate the integration, coordination, and execution
of work.Building and documenting procedures and processes to
troubleshoot and more effectively maintain and fix the environment
related issues.QualificationsRequired Skills and
ExperienceBachelor's Degree in: Business Administration/Management,
Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, or
related fields with 8 years of related experience. 3 - 5 years of
additional experience may be substituted for education.Red Hat
Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows OS, Azure, and/or AWS. Including
provisioning, configuration, storage, and user management.Scripting
or programming experience. (BASH, Python, etc.).GitHub Versioning
Control.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational
abilities.Ability to work both independently and in team scenarios,
with minimal guidance and supervision.Excellent written and oral
communication skills.Preferred Skills and ExperienceCI/CD tools,
such as Jenkin, Maven, andothers.Experience with GitHub, JIRA, and
Microsoft tools such as Teams and SharePoint.Clearance Required:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust ClearanceCompany

during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an
