Information The Division of Administration/Office of Technology
Services has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of
TS-318. This position is located in the Product Delivery Section.
Req. 172209 This vacancy will be filled by new hire or by promotion

experienced team members to add to our engineering section. Our
teams are responsible for delivering high quality modern software
for our partner agencies. As an architect, you will take the lead
in setting the vision, standards, and direction for our
modernization efforts across the State. We work in a fast-paced
agile delivery environment, collaborating across teams to build
software that enables State staff and citizens alike.The Office of
Technology Services aims to be a responsible partner in delivering
innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and
enhance the IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The
Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on
the State's investment in technology by promoting smart
decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the
rate of project success, and fostering a skilled and professional

baccalaureate degree plus five years of experience in information
technology.SUBSTITUTIONS:1. An associate's degree in information
technology will substitute for the baccalaureate degree.2. Two
years of experience or training in information technology will
substitute for the baccalaureate degree.Candidates without a
baccalaureate degree may combine experience or training in
information technology and college credit to substitute for the
required baccalaureate degree as follows:30 to 59 semester hours
credit will substitute for six months of experience or training in
information technology towards the baccalaureate degree.60 to 89
semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience or
training in information technology towards the baccalaureate
degree.90 or more semester hours credit will substitute for one
year and six months of experience or training in information
technology towards the baccalaureate degree.A maximum of 90
semester hours may be combined with experience or training in
information technology to substitute for the baccalaureate
degree.3. Six years of full-time work experience in any field may

SCS.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:May provide direct or functional
supervision over lower-level IT Statewide personnel. Other

DISTINCTIONS:Differs from IT Statewide Applications Engineer by the
presence of strategic responsibility for directing statewide
information technology applications solutions for an assigned
program area.Differs from IT Statewide Applications Senior
Architect by the absence of strategic responsibility for directing
statewide information technology applications solutions for an
assigned section.Examples of WorkThis position is within the Office
of Technology Services (OTS), Product Delivery and is responsible
for Application Architecture within the Engineering section within
the Product Delivery division. The incumbent is responsible for
directing the development of highly-complex applications using
tools and processes according to the standards developed by
OTS.Directs the development and design of highly complex
applications in their assigned program area by:* Directs teams in a
technical capacity in design, development, testing, debugging and
documentation of new or existing applications within accepted
standards, procedures and guidelines.* Leads the development of
standards, procedures and guidelines for application design and
development. Reviews the work of other technical project members
and their progress on projects, ensuring quality of work,
timeliness and software efficiency.* Creates high-level
architecture specifications, addressing problems of system
integration and compatibility at the system/solution level.*
Creates reference architectures, applications, and proofs of
concept for application migration and modernization
solutions.Collaborates with OTS leadership on organizational
initiatives and continuous improvement efforts:* Develops
documentation for the benefit of the organization, providing
guidance and solutions to speed development timelines.* Creates
reusable software packages that can be used across projects.*
Reviews and evaluates technology solutions, internally and
externally created and provides feedback to OTS leadership.*
Provides consultation to other software development initiatives
across the organization as directed by OTS leadership.Creates,
adopts and enables the use of technology standards; researches and
remains informed of new technologies and development tools in line
with the OTS Technology Stack.Provides leadership, advice, training
and mentorship to team members and other staff on current best
