Job Description:
Emergent Talent, a division of Emergent Method, is looking for
candidates with application server administration and
infrastructure experience to support several large scale systems.
This is a full-time position based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The
ideal candidate must be flexible, detail oriented, able to work in
a fast-paced environment, and embrace the challenges of working
with several stakeholders, often under a tight timeframe. Key
responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide day to day oversight,
coordination, and execution of many application server
administration and infrastructure tasks, working as part of a
larger architecture and infrastructure teamSet-up and configuration
of new environments, servers, instances and the configuration and
modification of existing instances of multiple COTS products,
especially WebSphereOversee and manage WebSphere instances and
multiple COTS products, which are hosted on WAS (or other
application servers such as Tomcat)Tune, oversee, and troubleshoot
application servers that host java-based applications and
associated COTS products Qualifications
At least five years of experience
working on technology projectsAt least five years of experience
configuring, installing, and administration of IBM WebSphere
Application ServerAbility to adapt quickly to an existing complex
environment and learn new concepts and skills as necessaryStrong
analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skillsStrong Linux
and Windows skillsExperience and understanding of server shell
scripting in a Linux environmentExperience in installing,
configuring, administering, and tuning Linux and Windows
applications Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure,
including virtualizationExbibits understanding of configuring
clustering, load balancing, and performance tuning for server
productsStrong experience in working with development teams and
understanding of server configurations for large J2EE
applicationsPreferred qualifications:
Experience with performance
management tools such as NAGIOS, New Relic, Splunk, etc.Experience
with IDEs such as IBM RAD or MyEclipseExperience with build and
deployment automation using tools such as Bamboo, ANT,
MavenExperience with ALM tools such as Jira, Jama, GithubExperience
with scripting tools such as Ansible, Selenium, etc.Ability to be
self-motivated, independent, detail and process oriented
team-player Strong communication skills, both written and
oralAbility to multi-task and support multiple priorities and
