Division is searching for a Regional Operational Excellence
Specialist for our growing business based out of Geismar, Louisiana
The main objective is to establish and support a continuous
improvement culture at multiple manufacturing sites within the
Americas Region. Working as part of a Global Excellence Team this
will be done by conducting regular assessments and providing
guidance to sites and business leadership on how to embed and
sustain Lean Manufacturing principals (5s, standard working
practices, performance board metrics, etc.) and how to continue the
development of these in line with business growth plans. This
person will be the main point of contact regionally for queries and
escalation points from the manufacturing groups while also working
as part of a Global team to support the development of the PU
Operational Excellence culture in line with business
expectations.In summary, as the Regional Operational Excellence
Specialist, you will be:Regional Operational Excellence
Specialist
- Conduct all duties in compliance with all Huntsman Corporate
and Huntsman Polyurethanes EHS, Business Conduct Policies,
guidelines, and the local site lifesaving rules at all times.
- Provide coaching and mentoring of LEAN manufacturing
methodologies to all sites to ensure that the techniques and
mindset become established across the workforce.
- Carry out rigorous diagnostics to define improvement
opportunities supported by data analysis. This may include Kaizen
events, value stream mapping, and other loss analyses.
- Ensure the development and long-term sustainability of a LEAN
manufacturing program to meet business targets through development
and execution of focused improvement plans.
- Support and develop the organization's performance measurement
system through the Tiers of leadership from plant / shop floor to
the Senior Leadership Team.
- Identify opportunities and develop and execute improvement
plans to achieve site targets.Education
- The ideal candidate should have a degree qualification in an
Engineering discipline with 10+ years' experience combined in site
engineering management and continuous improvement roles within the
Chemical, Automotive or General Manufacturing sectors.
- Formal qualification in Six Sigma or internally trained in any
Lean/CI program (TPM, Lean Six Sigma, Opex etc.)Skills & Knowledge
- The candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of how to
capture, promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives
which deliver cost savings and boost production efficiency within a
manufacturing business.
- The candidate must have excellent communication skills to
influence and engage at shop floor and senior management / director
level and be confident in leading cross functional teams in a
remote capacity.
- The candidate must have the ability to manage a diverse project
portfolio as well as be able to set priorities in a complex
environment.
- Innovative and creative mindset with the ability to deliver
solutions and generate new ideas and approaches with local
manufacturing teams.
- Fluency in English plus working proficiency in Spanish would be
highly desirable.
- The candidate should be confident working in a remote /
regional based role which can periodically involve significant
(+50%) travel within the region.The candidate must have an
