Job Description:

Improve monomer operations through improvement of raw material and energy efficiency, plant improvements and expansions, better utilization of byproducts, reliability improvements, and safety & environmental progress, as well as implementation of new product production.

Duties:

• Develop and maintain technical understanding and working knowledge of major unit processes.
• Conduct plant production improvement projects including process engineering studies, design and implementation of plans.
• Monitor and improve multiple unit performance efficiency and yield.
• Identify and evaluate areas for operational improvement and strategies.
• Identify and implement process changes and modifications to enhance operating reliability and efficiency.
• Implement cost reduction projects including capital and non-capital improvements
• Develop project scope, estimate, and justification packages for capital expenditure requests.
• Manage implementation of major capital projects.
• Lead plant hazard and project safety reviews.
• Identify areas to improve plant safety, health, and environmental performance.
• Prepare studies for and support operation of the pilot plant.
  Required:
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Computer Skills: SAP experience a plus; Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Competencies:
    • Operation and design experience with catalytic reactors and distillation
    • Experience managing design and construction phases of capital projects
    • Experience with ASPEN distillation simulations and design
    • Experience in the implementation of plant PSM initiatives
