medicine program.Work ExperienceRequired - None.Preferred -
Positron emission technology experience.CertificationsRequired -
Registered in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology
Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent body as recognized by the
American College of Radiology (ACR) or Intersocietal Commission
Accreditation Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL).Registered in
CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT),
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), -or
registry eligible with a temporary work permit that allows the
licensed and certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to work toward
the ARRT-CT certification.Current unrestricted license in the state
of practice.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the
American Heart Association.Knowledge Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based
applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability
to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule (on call availability)
and travel throughout and between facilities.
Job Duties
- Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
- Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
- Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
- Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure
according to protocol (including placement of IV and administration
of radiopharmaceuticals).
- Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images
meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with
regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as
warranted.
- Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations
(inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including
but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to
the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be
performed, requesting permissions and communication style
- Performs other related duties as required.The above statements
