As principal advisors to the boards of directors on corporate governance matters, the team also holds responsibility for establishing and managing stock exchange listings; directing and managing shareholder meetings and equity raisings, and representing Group interests in the development of laws and regulations.We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Analyst- CMB Strategy.Principal Responsibilities* Participation in strategic CMB projects or Group-wide initiatives assessing structural long term opportunities for HSBC leveraging CMB capabilities* Provide support to Associates, Engagement Managers and Directors, as required on strategic reviews and to improve quality of strategic planning, management information (MI), accountability and governance* Ensure proper and timely consideration of market, industry and competitor analysis (including benchmarking) to support opportunity and issue identification* Ensure proper, accurate and timely development of slide presentations and excel models to help support analytical outputs* Ensures team''s compliance with mandatory / necessary / business critical initiatives and requirements* Deliver fair outcomes for our stakeholders (customers, shareholders etc.) and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets* Undertake analysis to support the development and track execution of CMB strategy* Collate and analyse information from multiple sources - both external and internal - to inform strategy (e.g. Bloomberg, Capital IQ, internal financial databases)* Identifying key trends, opportunities and issues using HSBC and external sources to provide actionable insights for CMB strategy* Effectively communicate analyses to internal stakeholders - within CMB strategy, across strategy colleagues in the bank and across and across other functions within CMB* Undertake development of presentations and quantitative modelling in rapid, accurate, and insightful manner to support these analysesRequirementsRequirements* Strong problem solving skills including prioritising the key issues that needs to be focussed* Demonstrated ability to build knowledge and expertise in new areas, develop / structure / execute research plans, apply a hypothesis-driven approach* Well-developed analytical skills, capacity to process high volumes of complex information and synthesise key themes and issues; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint* Knowledge of using external sources such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ etc. helpful but not necessary* Ability to work independently and able to work in a small, international team with a flat structure to work collaboratively in a team environment.* Good understanding of (Commercial) Banking from a client, product and P&L perspective, prior experience in Commercial Banking is a plus but not essentialYou''ll achieve more when you join HSBC.is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
