Visit TextronSystems.com & Lycoming.com to read more about who we are and the products we make!About This RoleWe believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:A NDT Tech Lead leads a team of radiographers, performs calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and recording results. The selected individual will interpret welds requirements from various processes according with but not limited to Military Standard 2035, AWS Specifications, and ASME Section IV.Responsibilities:---Set up and utilize radiographic testing equipment.---Actively participate in Radiation Safety Programs.---Ensure the work or radiation area is controlled.---Calibrate radiographic testing equipment as required.---Conduct radiographic tests to ensure quality or detection of discontinuities.---Establish techniques for proper examination of welds under inspection while ensuring strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.---Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.---Organize and report test results.---Complete, maintain and/or submit daily radiation reports for management review, as required.---Perform specialized inspections as required.---Must train and/or provide direction to current, new or lower level employees including leading a group, as required.---Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management.Education:Associates or vocational degree preferred.Position Requirements:---Five (5) plus years of related NDT and/or Radiographer level II experience.---Two (2) plus years of Radiographer level II experience as a lead radiographer.---Demonstrated technical background in related NDT methods and procedures.---Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned Level II radiographer tasks and interpret results of inspections.---Must obtain Level II certifications both internally and through ASNT in methods identified and within 6 months of employment.---Must obtain Louisiana dual certification in X-ray and radioactive material within 6 months of employment.---General knowledge of PT and VT is required.---Advanced knowledge of other NDT methods is a plus.---Demonstrated proficiency with computers and MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.---Excellent verbal and written communication skills.---Ability to interface effectively within and across teams both internally and externally as required.---Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:Physical demands described have been validated by on-site job analysis.They are representative of the physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully and safely perform the essential functions of this job.The following information is a synopsis of key physical demand requirements determined from a detailed job analysis:Postural: Must have the ability to move extremities and spine throughout a sufficient range of motion that will permit the employee to work in a variety of postures involving a range from floor to overhead level.Flexing and twisting of the trunk and other awkward postures are occasionally required.Dexterity :Must have a good dexterity and frequently use one and two hands throughout the work period for tasks involving fingering, gripping and manipulation.Cardiorespiratory Demand :Must have sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to be able to perform medium work involving heavy lifting.Must be able to safely tolerate medium demands on the cardiorespiratory system in various temperature ranges and humidity.General Physical Activities :Include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.Physical Demand Level - Medium :Must be able to perform medium physical labor as classified by the United States Department of Labor.Physical demands typically involve lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.How We CareAt Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.We promote an inclusive environment where we value individuality, differences, and unique perspectives.Our Company is committed to offering employees opportunities to grow and develop.
